The
ECO-MEET
Mission

"To challenge and inspire an interest, appreciation and understanding of the natural sciences and the Kansas environment thru interscholastic competition."

Teacher/Coach Awards given at Regional Events!

A new incentive for 2009 ECO-Meet team coaches was a donation from the Kansas Wildscape Foundation and the Wildlife Education Services section of the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife & Parks to fund two $250 awards at every ECO-Meet regional competition. The names of the coaches that brought students to each regional ECO-Meet were put in a hat, with two chances to win. The winners each received a $175 gift certificate from Acorn Naturalists (a biological supply and reference material company) and a choice of field guide/reference books (up to a $75 value) from the University Press of Kansas.  Since one regional event was cancelled, a drawing was held for the coaches at the State event who had not won at a regional event and two awards were made there too!
